Behold the Tracery Pendant! A tribute to the timeless beauty of Gothic architecture, an heirloom quality piece inspired by the ornate stone windows that define historic cathedrals. Every line, arch and curve, echoes the delicate structural patterns known as tracery, where light, structure and art merge into something breathtaking.
This pendant is entirely handmade, from the first design sketches to the final polish. Crafted from solid sterling silver and weighing close to 70 grams, it carries a substantial presence both visually, and physically. The weight and density reflect the dedication poured into its construction, making it feel more like a small sculpture than just a pendant.
At the heart of the piece sits a custom-cut quartz crystal window, carefully shaped to mirror the elegant geometry of Gothic cathedral glass. The crystal was precision cut specifically for this pendant, allowing light to pass through and illuminate the details within, just like the windows that inspired it.
Behind the crystal lies one of the most unique elements of the design: an intricately tattooed piece of leather created by one of Vancouver's top tattoo artists: Meesha Ratzlaff - of Gypsy Tattoo - whose craftsmanship transforms the interior into a miniature work of art. The leather acts like a living canvas; it's tattooed imagery framed by silver tracery and magnified through the crystal window. The collaboration between metalwork and tattoo artistry, brings two crafts together in a way rarely seen in jewelry! ❤︎
