During the Tokugawa period (1603–1868), the Naginata was transformed into a status symbol to distinguish women of samurai families, as well as being the primary means for a woman to defend her home while her husband was away in times of war.
The Naginata was the iconic weapon of the Onna-Musha, a term referring to female warriors in pre-modern Japan, many of whom fought in battle alongside Samurai men.
This beautiful sword is weighted, and handmade in .925 sterling. One of a kind and comes with a gorgeous wheat chain. Please wear with care.
